would weigh?

I'm thinking MAYBE someone here was crazy enough to move one. Maybe.

????

Wet dirt like top soil or compost, or wet potting soil?

It's going to weigh at least 100 pounds, probably more. At my nursery job, we would constantly move around planted half whiskey barrels, not easy at all, we would use a dolly or ball cart to move them.

I got a big pot like that.

It has milk jugs in there.

Check for milk jugs!

Take the rocks out.

Take the dirt out!

Sorce

25+ gallon tree that’s wet is really heavy...really heavy...could be severely heavy for one person

put it on its side and roll it, much less

where’s it going?

Soil that sinks (doesn’t float) would be heavier than water...
That’s not accounting for space between particles. Most soil floats until saturated and air is removed so I’d say a bucket of water weighs more than a bucket of wet soil because some of the initially lighter soil would be displacing the heavier water. Depends on the soil though I suppose.

Wine barrel capacity 230ish litres/ 60ish gallons, half full contents weighs 115kg/250lb

Answer, too heavy for me!

We used a 6'-7' 2x6 or 2x8 as a makeshift ramp and 3 guys to push it up and into my SUV lol.

This isn't your regular nursery soil thought. It's them heavy ass compacted sandy clay type soil.

My guess is over 300lbs. I was supposed to bareroot it this spring but ran out of time. Will do first thing next spring since the surrounding soil (composted pine bark+8822) is compacting.

Well a cubic foot of wet top soil is around 112 pounds. Multiply the diameter x diameter x height to get the cubic feet then multiply by 112. Roughly.....a cubic foot of water is about 62.5 pounds.

A large portion of many typical garden soil mixes is sand. Sand doesn’t float. Which means it’s heavier than water.

Thread says “wet dirt”....

No mention of pumice/hyuga et all. lol.
Yep. Dirt. :(
It....used to... have milk bottles. Not a pot. Wooden half barrel.
Dirt. Wet dirt.
Maybe it looks perfect where it is. 🥴

I did however think like Sorce. I mean on this subject. 😜
Take dirt OUT. Move barrel. Etc etc etc

That should have said diameter x 0.785 x height
