I cleaned some of the foliage and pinched the ends 2 weeks ago… since then the new growth is light green and the tree is doing well.. I have it getting sun until 3 pm in afternoon then it gets shade .
Likes when I mist foliage too

It’s a tall tree and I think the style and progression of the pods I’ve been pinching are really starting to take shape .. I want to find more like this Hinoki cypress or pine or spruce( which is in the works )
and I love the style

I can't help but think that this is an inadvertent improvement. It really emphasizes contrast in the the height vs. the canopy

Thanks I think so too although it still needs to develop more especially branching but the top will get good growth.. and the bottom branches pinching works well to keep tight and not extend .
This is the inspiration
