This was one of the first trees I acquired and other than a repot this year I have done basically nothing with it. My younger son seems to cut the needles off the top for whatever reason. It looks like a nice little tree, but not necessarily a bonsai and I have little idea what to do next. Any advice is appreciated. I’m essentially clueless when it comes to non-deciduous trees.

Is this a true JPB or a cultivar? Seems almost as a mix between a thunderhead and a JBP. My first advise would be to wire some movement into it, and possibly when you repot do so at an angle so the trunk doesn't come straight up. But first you have to decide what size you want from it, if it is a small tree you could probably start reducing the needles to the top past that first branch on the left, using it as a sacrifice. Then that left branch could be your next leader/sacrifice.
