I'm looking at this poor bonsai, thinking....they're actually just like us people. All have their scars.
Some have way more healing to do than others though....

What species is this?

There are certain plants I have that require major chops regularly. Forsythia, and my smoke bush have very corse growth, an therefore look like this at times.
