Grewia progression

What a great tree! Thank you for sharing the progress!
Any tips on over wintering? I am in Atlanta GA and I think I may need to keep it indoors during the winter months?
Thanks. Not sure what to tell you about Atlanta climate. I don’t think I’d let it freeze or frost. Mine comes in when it’s consistently in the low to mid-40s. Watered everyday even in winter. Plenty of sun and water. Thirsty plant.

Thanks! What temp do you keep it at indoor? Any pest or fungus issues you noticed while indoor?

Well done! Loved the thread and the new shoes progression 😎

cheers

I just googled Atlanta's climate, and for sure it'll do just fine outside during winter.
It gets colder (than Atlanta) where it naturally grows in Southern Africa.
Mine here in New Zealand lives outside during winter. This past one we had some real cold nights (0°C) and it did just fine.
It really is a tough and hardy tree...but, as the OP says, it does need a LOT of water. On mine one of the main trunks died off because of a lack of water.

Oh WOW! Thank you! I always thought Grewia was a tropical plant.

This just went through summer leaf drop. It dropped about 30% of its inner leaves. I cut all of the old flowers off at 10:00 am. First photo was taken at 10:20. Second photo was taken at 11:45.
