Greener’s Vance Wood Memorial Mugo

Long time lurker-- I've killed my fair share of trees and definitely don't really know what I'm doing haha.

But I found this mugo at home depot last week and I figured it might be fun and educational to throw up a thread.

I know it's too late in the year to repot, so all I've done is slip-pot it into a pond basket.

Turns out when I got into it the whole tree was basically one giant whorl. As per Vance's guide, I waited until the last week of June to do branch pruning, and I tried to only take off 1/3 of the foliage mass because I'm a beginner and figure I don't really know how to "be cautious". As Vance suggested, at this rate it'll definitely take multiple growing seasons to get this going in the right direction. There's still a lot of whorl left.
