Just got this Hydrandea from a trade with a friend, I know they don’t make good bonsai but the killer trunk got me. Just gonna see what I can do with it. Any tips would be appreciated.

The new house has a number of old and declining hydrangea trees. One of them has a large branch of witches booms of tiny leaves. The entire tree, along with a few others, are in decline and would have been removed last year except the witches broom growth entertains me and I have too much else to do.

Tree is doing well but didn't flowered for me at all this year. It grew very fast in the summer so I had to keep trimming back.
