I’ve been horrible not documenting the progress of my trees in the past, so I figured I’d start at the parking lot for the initial cut.

Time for some cleanup and see what I can work with…

Removed a lot of branches. After seeing a handful of back-budding, and adventitious buds, I gained more confidence. I’m quite happy with the existing root flare. The top part of the trunk is quite straight, so I’ll work on that depending on how much back-budding this guy produces this upcoming growing season. Full morning sun for now to give it some encouragement.
