Hi Metairiematthew, if you ship them as bare root can you or anyone else give us some advise on what to do once we receive them. how should we plant these or care of them initially?

What I've learned so far is keep em wet. Baby them given the time of year they were pulled off the streets. I'm sure someone on here has better or more advice than myself.

@Metairiematthew Good save for these babies!
Thats very generous of you. I find myself in the same position wanting to share. Mine are assorted species from cuttings and volunteers in the garden. I recommend having no hole in your forests pot? Saves on constant watering that they'll still need? And your even hotter where your at?

I'm up here in Canada on the other ocean. Ha.
We do have a cypress bog at the botanical gardens. IMG_5520.JPG
I have a Montezuma forest planting in a shallow pot without holes and another one started on a slab from its cuttings.

And a single bald cypress with a mystery tree grafted on top that I usually keep submerged. No knees yet.IMG_8375.JPG
Good luck with your project.

Very nice growth on the BC. Looks like lots to work with!

Grabbed a few more, dug them up nicely and made humidity domes. Still hundreds left.

If you have any more to spare, I would love to get some. I’m trying to collect all I can to start a forest.

I have plenty to go around and seeds for days.just trying to perfect how to get higher success rates from field to pot.

Ha! Thats my deal with cuttings. The in the "baggy method" You would't beleieve the volunteers I get in my garden. Most likely animal origin. Maaples maples maaples(even the occasional JM), oaks oaks oaks, red cedars, Nootka cypress, birch, beech, mountain ash, cherry. hawthorn ect. even a Japanese cedar witch was puzzeling but then I found a mature specimen up the street.

Well you do have to let them breath every couple days. I've clones many a plant and yes you will need to dry out and re bag.
