This tree was collected around the same time as my banyan styled forsythia this year. I wanted to see if it survived collection and an early wiring before making a thread for it but as I should have expected, it did fine. Forsythia may be more difficult to kill than to keep alive it seems.

I had wired this one and intend to make a literati styled tree specifically to showcase the yellow spring flowers. It needs ramification and thickening but long term I'd like a bright blue glazed pot for it. It has very interestimg fall colors as the leaves turn a burgundy mixed with slime green color.

Break in trunk where I bent to much while doing the initial wiring. I wrapped it in electrical tape to act as a splint

Unwired, removed the yellow tape I wrapped the broken trunk with. There was actually a root growing insidd the taped location. Theres a low bud on the trunk which ill let grow as well for future development and to add better movement in the trunk.

Structurally Pruned, Rewired remaining branches, cut elongating buds back to the first pair of leaves to induce back budding and fertilized.

Great response from this pruning. Buds are really starting to push all over the place.
