Iseli Nursery is arguably the best wholesale nursery in the country for rare conifers and deciduous landscape plants. Additionally, they know that bonsai enthusiasts are some of their most passionate customers. They ship to large retail nurseries across the country, and I can even find their plants here in North Carolina. To see what a really BIG wholesale nursery looks like, check out this video:

I get frustrated by wholesale nurseries. I know they need volume business, but I want to shop for that one special tree.....

Those topiaries around 3:10 are really cool. I think seeing trees like these as a kid, watching Karate Kid, Edward Scissorhands, and loving nature is what engaged my interest in bonsai initially.

Would these be considered yard bonsai?

At the very beginning of the video, if you look carefully, they have a long topiary/hedge that is styled to look like a chain/spiral rope. The thing must be over 100 yards long!\

But... they aren't bonsai or yard bonsai. Bonsai are trees styled to look like trees in nature - on a smaller scale. Topiary are trees styled to look NON natural - like animals, or shapes or designs typically not found in nature.
