I mostly do azaleas, but I have numerous other flowering species—the aforementioned apricot and quince, plus a couple of white quinces, a sand cherry, choke cherry, and a flowering almond—none of which are eye-catching bonsai, except when they are in bloom. And then they just take my breath away. I came to bonsai after 25 years of raising antique English roses, so it’s always been the flowers that make my tail wag.Young kojo no mai without much interest…unless it's covered in flowers!View attachment 585779
