Uruguay, Brazil, at least some action next. I would not be happy with finals like "Russia/Croatia"...
 
Watched England-Croatia in Belfast. No tears shed from the friends out there, but anyway, that's the game ;)

Half-time in the final.

2-1 for France. But Croatia is doing really well, they're playing good football. The french seem to be waiting for their opponents to get tired...
 
France has been playing quite badly... 2 goals from an own goal that should have been foul and a stupid handball penalty.

Croatia really played well, they should not be ashamed of losing, respect. Winning against such a good team is an honor.

And I'm happy to see a muticultural, multicoloured, secular country be "great again" :cool:

I think that the man of the cup is Didier Deschamps : he favored young players instaed of trying to play on "sure values", but his motto was: "we're a team", and he paid a particular attention on keeping this good atmosphere. Values overcoming technique and money: I love that! :cool:

That's what team work comes to. Values. Solidarity. Being there, togetherness.

No matter who scores, everyone dissolves in the team for victory.

I think that all the players that didn't score a goal are proud to have been in the final.

Anyway, nothing's gained forever, the wheel of fortune is turning endlessly....

Come on... he is the goal area striker... he wasn't able to aim at goal during 7 matches...
 
Don't mean to disrespect you Alain but France played a very ugly tournament. Besides the game against Argentina all the matches were very anti-football. Not really worty a world champion. That's probably why the rest of the world were supporting Croatia.

But in the end it's the result that counts I guess.
Congrats none the less.
 
We were rooting for Croatia because our Croatian neighboors brought us drinks and food to do so.
It was fun to watch a game with few ballerina's for a change.

Because of time difference, the match was being played in the morning (local time). We were sitting at a sidewalk cafe in Laguna Beach eating breakfast, watching the surf on one hand, and watching the World Cup on the other. :)

I will say this, it was more interesting and exciting than the 2014 Final... which almost put me to sleep :)
