I’ll just plant new rooted cuttings in the channels, pointing outwards. They’ll have nowhere else to go. I plan to let the “trunks” grow upwards, and then directionally prune/wire some of them out horizontally to form a canopy. My hope is that the roots will fuse, but we’ll see. I have some other experiments going with twisted/braided ficus roots to see what happens.how will you get the roots to follow the channels then?
