I pass at least 2 nurseries every day so in theory it shouldn't be too hard to stop for a few minutes.
More likely though I wont and I'll panic buy a terrible Juniper at the last minute from the supermarket if I have to and I really, really don't want one. But if I have to I will. Even if I do get nursery stock it's likely to be a stick in a pot anyway but we shall see.

This arguing and bickering over a contest is exactly why i dont enter any of these contests..it gets way out of hand for a contest thats supposed to be fun.. If bickering is fun ill pass.

Any shot we can do the big box store contest one day? That sounded super fun, actually. Everyone with their crappy stock that they somehow pull into reasonably presentable trees
I'm considering entering this if I can find a decent tree. The openness of this contest is pretty daunting since some sources have trees with more "tranformational capacity" than others. Availability of presentable stock is certainly a handicap for many people.
A person buying a houseplant from Lowes (because they've literally sold every tree they have by this time of year) is going to have a hard time competing against the "My buddy has a 30 year old imported maple he's been sitting on that I can buy from him".

@KingJades if you read back it's over all transformation. So if the plant is already half way there then there's less point then someone with raw nursery stock.

Well, it came to me like it was meant to be so....
I got a hibiscus off the clearance rack at Lowes for $4.50 a couple weeks ago, that I wanted to take a shot at doing something with. But I bought it before the contest started. Looking forward to see what everyone else does, though.
