I should have known...I noticed a bit of sun damage to the leaves. But not extremely bad. So I thought...well, I might as well leave it there. Then...the sun fried off a bit of it's leaves on a hot day. So it's moved...and I will use this as a kindly reminder...when a plant starts to show distress or that it's unhappy...do something to make it happy.

Honest I would try more water - Fuji normally do well in full sun ;) During the hot spells might need three times a day and yours is potted down while mine are in large containers.

Well the care sheet said to move it to partial sun in the summer. Since moved it is pushing new growth and seemingly more happy. It has sphagnum moss on top of the pot...that I left as instructed to help keep it moist in sun. But...even with it moist it fried.

The entire ends leaves turned brown and curled up. Wish I had a photo of it close up to show you. It's starting to look much healthier now. But it got mid day through the afternoon full sun where it was at prior to moving.

I understand what you were told, just remember they do not always follow directions well :p Right now I have two American Elms sitting in full sun which they like as well as water. They are taking so much water I have the pots in a seed starter tray and I water them twice AND fill the tray with 3/4 to 1 inch of water daily. Should not really keep them wet but the weather is HOT and they do best like that during that time. I often tell people when they get a new tree/plant to get 3 to 5 for that reason. It takes time to figure out each species in your space so many times general directions run you down the wrong road. Sounds like you have it covered though. If the foliage continues to or starts to yellow off and die consider copper fungicide and part sun until it is under control. I like that one btw, wish I could do the initial styling/wiring on it - I see something there :)
