Exposed root Acer p. clump.

Thank ya kindly.

As you can see by my adding to this thread. Martin @thumblessprimate1 created the trunk/bones.

Victor Harris... a commissioned pot. He went way out. His Burtonesque style.
Yes been following thread. I do like the vision you saw in tree that he started.

Thank ya kindly. It's been fun...having on my bench.

I am so honored to have had Victor Harris do a commission for me. I've heard from one in the UK. He can't get a commissioned accomplished by Victor. He isn't doing commission at this time. So...an honor to have this done by him. 🥰

THE TIM BURTON ACER...

Let me say...what an honor to have Victor push himself on this project. Pushing the limits... He did research... the ghoul was industrial plaster cement. Used for repairing historical stone work. What wasn't calculated in. Was the chemical reaction of the aluminum mesh form inside the ghoul. Causing it to disintegrate. (That was something hard to calculate when it's an experimental first.) Which permitted the raised hands. I absolutely love the overall pot...texture...green slime. But today... I am removing the ghoul. Victor will be making me a mud man ghoul to set with the tree.

I will forever love that man's work. I actually am beyond honored that my job had him pushing boundaries. Total respect for the man and his work.

I'm not the least bit upset. It does not eat my lunch... not when there are people taking their last breath. I don't believe in sweating the smalls. In the big scheme of things.

Species: Japanese Maple Acer Palmatum
Pot: Commissioned by Victor Harris of Erin Pottery
*To get that texture, he pushed the boundaries with well over 20 firings. As one who absolutely loves texture. I absolutely find it delicious!

The ghoul...was crumbling into a powder dust. He is no longer on the pot. I removed him today. As upon research Victor did. We could not stop a chemical reaction taking place. I didn't want it to get into the bonsai substrate. So goodbye Ghoul.

Victor is making me a mud man ghoul...in honor of the one which had to be removed.
