This is it's second year alive and it's first year in bonsai soil.
I've let the roots grow into the pot below it to gain vigour.
Before it was rooted in the soil below, the leaves were quite small.

Found a picture of it when it was in it's first year from seed
In it's second year the trunk basically doubled in girth.

Here is a december update, the tree has grown quite a bit since the last photos. I will either cut it back in the spring or just leave it like this for another year and put it in a bigger pot.
It has developed dormant flower buds, which is a bit unusual since it shouldn't be flowering until it's 4 yo.
As you can see, the trunk has more than doubled in one growing season and it's 70cm (27.5 inches) tall .

Freshly repoted, took off a bunch of roots and also discovered that it was planted on a rock, which I forgot about.
It went into a much smaller pot and it will not have access to soil on the bottom to root in, we shall see how small the leaves will get.
It is officially 3 years old.

Another little update, it grew a strong leader, which was to be expected, I pinched that leader and a smaller branch grew ( I don't think you can see it in the photo ).
The tiny branch was shaded out by 2 leaves, leaves which were VERY small compared to the rest, I have hopes that with ramification and a small pot I could get most of them that size, they were maybe 4cm across.WhatsApp Image 2024-08-30 at 18.37.55.jpeg
