I recently purchased 3 European Beech trees from International Bonsai, 3/4" trunk base, and about 14" tall,,, arrived in containers. I planted them in a bonsai soil of equal parts of akadama, pumice, and lava. They are planted in a forest setting. Two of them have leaved out with beautiful, dark green leaves and look very healthy. The third one, which has many good looking long buds, has not opened (not even one) . It is now May 20 and all of my bonsai's have come to leaf except this one. I have cut open one of the unopened buds and it appears to be green, which tells me it's not dead,,,,, but why have they not opened or have I missed something in the process of transplanting them. Maybe a call to International Bonsai is in order. Any guidance will be appreciated.
