So,
As a newer member to the forum I was quite excited to partake in a contest. But with my proclivity to growing pines, I was uncertain whether I could reasonably create a raft with pine.
I recall seeing an article where a pine was turned into a raft, eventually rooting after 10-20 years.
Anyway.
This morning I took a seedling, folded the roots over, laid the main stem parallel with the roots and pined it down into the pot. Unfortunately I didn't take before photographs but as this seedling its 1-2 years old I assume no one will be overly critical.

A fair few buds are on the stem along with the 3 shoots.
Maybe something will come of this? I assume it's more likely to resemble a kabudachi, but who knows?
Also unsure on species. I presume Pinus nigra, as the seedling had longer needles than my pinus sylvestris.
