Old mugo pine in the making

This Mugo Pine was found 5 years ago. It is a very old tree of about 250-300 years old.




This year the tree regained its vitality so I was able to repot it and remove the old soil. to show the best charactaristics my idea was to tilt the tree into a more cascading form. To realise the idea I have tried to build a special container as one can see on the photo.






The following pictures are virtuals. If the tree stays healthy, it might be possible to realise one of these in about 3-4 years.

I cutted a slice of a bigger deadwood part and polished it. Although the center was rotten the countable annual rings were about 200.

The diameter is only about 4 cm.

The tree was found in the austrian alps above the timberline. It sat on the top of a boulder.
