hello i am interested in doing the 7 year juniper contest but does it have to be a shimpaku juniper or can it be any Chinese juniper

Check out @JEads thread regarding the contest. There is an excellent post about this.

I’m looking forward to it! Just waiting to see which of my cuttings are the strongest come spring..

I'm trying to get a itogiawa juniper but I might get a blaauw I need to see what my local garden centers have. I have cuttings from a sabina juniper I took last year not sure that would work

Does this meet the allowed requirements

Would these count (the variegated ones)? I think they are some form of Chinese juniper.

I just happened to take a few cuttings a couple weeks ago.
