Craft Beers

Has anyone had "Sweet Baby Jesus"? It's a craft out of NC I believe. Peanut butter chocolate porter. Smells like Reese's peanut butter cup. Not bad if you have 1. Terrible if you have 4.

Trust me.

My Lord! I had a very difficult time getting a whole bottle down and I had it at 38 degrees! A friend brought me one to try... Do not think I will be getting any :p Sad part is I like the flavor just way to filling.

I'm with ya on the filling part. Thicker than mud. And I can down 4 pints of Guinness without issue.

BTW, that "bonsai beer" was a better looking box than tasting beer. Glad to have tried it, won't be gong back for more. It'd be great for a club auction, though.

Funny you mention Guinness because I can down 6 of those easier then one Sweet Baby Jesus. Great idea on the club auction and thank you for the "heads up" on that I will spend my money on something better.

Since the topic of religious brews has been cracked, I tried one in South Wales called Reverend James I believe. They drink theirs room temp there, so I was skeptical, but it was the smoothest draft I ever had, and at 14% alcohol, probably the strongest stealth brew I ever had. I'd imagine after 5 or 6 pints of that stuff you'd be talking to God for sure.

Anyone ever tried these from Compass Box distillery? Supposed to be some of the best blended scotch under $50. A bit on the elusive supply list.

Never heard of it. But I'll keep an eye out. Any idiot can pay 200 for a great bottle of wine or scotch. It takes an education or just plain dumb luck to find a great bottle for 10 - 50.

I'm not usually too lucky, but the dumb part fits like a glove!
I think I found a spirits store in Georgetown that sells it. I also found a bar called Jack Rose on 18th st NW that stocks the stuff. Road Trip!! (short one for me)

I just got an email from the US brand manager after I emailed the company looking for retailers. There's one literally 10 minutes from home..Who'd a thunk? Schweet!!

Awesome, here it is a little bit of jumping through hoops. For instance when we want a bottle of Navan vanilla liqueur I have to go to the State Store, prepay, and then wait 7 to 10 days. They carry low to midstream but very little when it comes to good stuff.
