Michigan Tree Murderer
Masterpiece
I haven't seen any/many of these at the places I visit. Anyone have info on a mature 10+ year old cork bark oak? I'd be comfortable spending $300 more/less, depending on a lot of factors.

I do, sent you a PM.I haven't seen any/many of these at the places I visit. Anyone have info on a mature 10+ year old cork bark oak? I'd be comfortable spending $300 more/less, depending on a lot of factors.
I have a two spider farmer SF1000D indoor lights, and a T8 grow lights shelf I use on my tropicals. I also have an attached garage I could use but even that may get to cold at times. And I appreciate the advice & welcome that & any tips or tricks. Before you buy make sure you have a plan for overwintering an evergreen oak that needs zone 8 or 9. Evergreen means you'll need good light all winter, in addition to proper temps.
Thanks a lot. Did I mention I love this website!I do, sent you a PM.

Yeah. I didn't like that one either, just posted the only one I found online. (didn't look that hard) I'm not in a hurry just in the learning and looking phase. And depending on weather I'm not sure it's safe to ship to Mich in Jan & Feb (it can get into the teens and below zero overnight). Definitely would have to be watching the forecast. I know they have those "heaters" but color me skeptical.I have a small one I got this summer from Bonsaify in ten San Francisco area and I am overwintering it in a window well off my garage. So far it looks like it is OK, a d still has nice green leaves. These are a mediterranean plant (think Spain) and can go semi-dormant in winter but probably can‘t take really deep freezes. The one you showed a photo of had no movement at all and IMHO wouldn’t even make a decent formal or semi-formal.
Ha! I didn't look that hard. Judging by your tone the reviews sound bad. I'll be pursing @Housguy tree's in the near future.Easternleaf has quite the online reviews. I would read a couple of those before placing an order.
I'd love to fly out to the OC and experience Bonsaithon! Can't help with the finders fee, but I do appreciate the help you provided!@Housguy If you sell a tree to @Michigan Tree Murderer , all I ask for my finder's fee is a discount on a new tree at Bonsaithon next month
Sounds great! Yes, we should wait till your temps are better suited for shipping a cork to you, they do not like temps below 40 F, that would be pushing it! Will send you pics though, so you can settle on something you like, something to look forward toI'll be pursing @Housguy tree's in the near future.

Most of the bad reviews are from people with distorted expectations... buying mallsai priced trees expecting to get kokufu ten material. Also, like the one here not too long ago, buying a satsuki out of flowering season as a gift for someone and being utterly disappointed that it had no flowers.
Way ahead of ya! My middle name is cautious.I would be very very VERY cautious about having such a tree shipped to Michigan in the winter.
