Its my second week in the new house...
There are several interesting garden plants....
But this one really caught my attention...and the more I think about it...well, that's why I'm posting it....
Its a butterfly bush....
I imagine that these generally don't make good bonsai....

But check out the huge hollow trunk!



Is it worth it???
I'm leaning towards, no....but I dunno, maybe ???

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaand there’s your answer. Ramrod straight growth, wood that rots if you fart near it... routinely dies back to the ground during coldish winters, big leaves too... leave it for the butterflies ?.

That's hilarious...
I will say though...I had one in the garden for the whole 7 years I lived in my old place, and it was a super strong weed!
Never had dieback...I had to prune it hard to keep it in check...

I always thought that they grow straight and have big leaves....but hey! Leave size can be reduced, most likely....and clip and grow does wonders...

I already am trying to make bonsai with Tulip Poplar, Feral Japanese Maple, Eastern White Pine, American Holly, Spirea, and probably more obscure stuff I can think of right now....
Why not try a butterfly bush???

Do it. I mean, I've tried to layer one and it didn't work so it's on the 'to buy' list for next year.
I think it's the same for Wisteria; crappy wood and dieback. But people plant those anyways.

As for the winter dieback, I havent seen that happen in a good 10 years in our backyard specimen. Aphids though.. Billions of them. Every year again.

Half naked with about 6 cheaper, but not too cheap, and Non-IPA's flowing around half a handle of Jack with that motherfucker in a pot next to me like....

I went at about 333 AM once to a Craigslist ad about free BB's in the alley...

Scored a few plastic drainage trays I still use...a pond net that is bitchin...a little brass koi plaque thing...and some pond piping equipment that will come in handy some day.

I didn't take the Bushes...

But what's the worst that could happen...
You find a coffee tin of cash underneath it?

Me and this laborer dude I was working with the other day were talking about scores...found $ in old buildings...scrapping scores...antiques...etc...working at a cursed job with the address 1134 that was an old ammunition joint for WW2...
Musta been heavy ammunition cuz the floors are 6inch lumber with steel diamond plate top. Wicked dope...

Anyway...

We were "waiting for the bricky" so I went dumpster diving and found over $50 in change 2 singles...and 7 pesos.

Then I found another $60 a couple days later...

And after almost buying a $60 clamp the other day...cuz I love them and want my own...
I found one in the middle of the street yesterday.

So this me...

This one says....

Might as well want for it...

Wamt for it strong...

The Cash under it or the Bonsai.

Then Fucking make it happen!
