Converting a kmart bowl into a bonsai pot.

Should be able to find a flat sided ring plastic or otherwise that fits just right.
Cut it into 4 pieces for feet.
In addition to drainage/air flow advantages it might lessen the bowl like appearance.
 
You might want to lightly prop up a side, or set it on some sticks, or something to keep it off the table...water may not drain well because the bottom of the bowl is not notched, or doesn't have feet like a bonsai pot.
I have this issue with terracotta flower pots. I usually put a chopstick under one side to create an air gap.
I've used some small rubber 'feet' that have adhesive on one side to lift a pot up for air flow... they come in different sizes and withstand weather well... big box stores carry them.
