Funky top removed. The crazy growth has healed a lot if the chop. The low branches are established. The next step is to develop a good apex and settled the style of the tree.

This BC was on sale last year with no taker. Today it received a base split and extensive root work.

Broke apart two BC groups and formed a forest. The groups were grown specifically for this day. There is one tree on the back edge that will be chopped in the spring. Right now the trees will be left alone to recover.

The second biggest tree standing alone in the back left received a trunk split to improve its base.

8 months later, the main tree is now nearly 6 ft tall. The split bottom tree is healthy and healing well. The forest will be pruned for the move to PA.

No but this one has both a base split and a trunk wedge. It was also hard pruned today.

After the removal of the back ground, the scale of the trees is very deceiving. Some of the trees are massive.

Really nice work. It looks very natural and I couldn’t tell that you wacked this base up. Seems to heal up nice.
