No luck yet as tree is still recovering from repoting i presume. Had a bit of elongation but also lost a few branches this summer. All my other cedars aren't doing well to get back budding as well. Just lost a nicer cedrus all of a sudden couple weeks back. I'm fertilizing heavy now hoping ill get back budding next season. I did get a single bud back on the trunk as in below pic so I wouldn't say they dont backbud. As to inducing bqckbudding many promote heavy pruning but others like Ryan Neil promote letting tree run and fertilizong heavy so added nutrient transport induces backbuds.
