Can't we just enjoy the hobby?

Hmmm - this is taken directly from some dopey blog...oh yeah yours

"Here is a little pear tree that was collected by the railroad tracks in Northern Kentucky a few years ago. Actually that is where I get a lot of my trees from. It takes some time and energy, of course, to collect a tree from the wild, but it beats paying a lot of money for some plant material that totally lacks character."

Didnt grow this one from a seed did ya

Thanks for taking the time to point this out. For the record I have never grown a bonsai from seed and I think my posts may somehow be getting over your head. Keep lurking.

Apparently someone forgot to tell Jerry Meislik that he "can't" grow ficus in Montana an Michigan... I suppose someone should have let him know that he "couldn't" write a book entitled "Ficus: The Exotic Bonsai" either... lol ;) jk

Keep doing what you love Ryan. I have a few tropical's here in WY myself. It's nice to be able to enjoy bonsai while most of mine are either in winter storage or buried under snow.

Oh I will. I ordered myself another piece of Ficus stock to spite this guy. It ships Monday ;)

LOL, My Wife has been growing Tropical here in the NE 16 years and I am ordering her more :)

Rules? We don't need no stinking rules :p

Believe me, that's easier said than done.

I think that part of the problem came from your post Ryan - "I really don't see what the big deal is. Bonsai is a hobby. You do it to keep you happy and active. Screw what other people think. The guy who originally whined about cheating needs to grow up and let others do what makes them happy.

Kind of hard to say something like this, then expect peace.

Sorry, I just speak the truth.

Alright guys, this whole idea has been beaten enough. Time to just drop it and let it go.
