Looks good and healthy. Hard to believe it didn't discolor for Winter.
I would've waited till June to build more energy, right now it is carrying over
energy from last year which is plenty since you're not repotting.
Leaving the original leader will add size to both the future jin as well as trunk
I'm just not sure with the photos provided, if there are current options to fill that space.

The 2nd left branch could be better potential for 1st branch when you repot at an angle if the current 1st branch
does not have any interior growth to take over. Looking good.

Update of sorts.
About a month ago, I decided to get this out of the nursery can.
Repot.
Hmm. I guess I don’t have a photo of it finished. Oh well, Put it in a tokoname trainer.
This won’t be messed with anymore this year.

As I get ready to move my plants into hibernation, I really enjoy taking a moment for photo updates.

This one seemed to sulk a bit this season.
I Repotted in may, so I’m not to surprised. Still loads of issues with the structure of this tree. It is completely one-sided due to the huge tri branches up top.

I know, yikes!
This area (right side of tree) needs work. I did Jin the longest portion of the thick branch. It may need to go back further though.

Late spring update.
This one has not shown me as much pizazz as i would hope.
I’ve let it run shaggy to give it a break. It looks much blue-er on person, but yeah, not super health by the looks of it

Hmm, it does look a bit stressed. Maybe it's still not over the repot? I repotted an RMJ this Spring and it's thrown lots of juvenile shoots like this one has.

Well, I let this one run all season, it’s definitely filled out, but has a weeping look to it.

Very long foliage. I think this one may go in the ground to beef up.
It has not gained any noticeable trunk growth in this pot.
Pretty though.

Nice "frosty" look!

Yeeeah... Any Juni's I have worked with (that can survive here, and WEREN'T vandalized and peed upon by the trespassers) REEEALLY seem to slow down on bulk/girth once you switch the soil and pot them under 4" deep.

Not much has changed with this one except for the fact that it’s gotten more and more droopy. I imagine it’s from not pruning much this season try to grow some strength.

We will see if it picks up steam next year or it’s going in the ground.
