Didn't expect to see that delicious brown on it yet. Thought you was allowing it to dry out. My husband made me wait until the following season to do ours. Until the color of the wood changed on it. Looks sharp though.

Thanks. I did my research and it turns out that’s old thinking. As long as the wood is dry it can be stained. If you put water on it and it gets absorbed then you can stain it.

My husband is a general contractor...his father a painter...his grandfather a painter. No telling him otherwise. I know Dave here stained his wood as soon as it went up as well. But it would keep the hubs up at night to do so. His way of thinking...it's just not done.
