Yep, can’t wait for the wood to cure. Gonna go with a chocolate brown stain.

If you are using deck stain it is better to go ahead and stain it now it will take better. 25 yrs as a carpenter. I am a truck driver now tho

Thanks everyone. Yes, it’s a 10-year stain and sealer on one plus pressure-tested wood. I’ll keep up on it too

UPDATE: I stained it today. Pretty pleased with it.

Didn't expect to see that delicious brown on it yet. Thought you was allowing it to dry out. My husband made me wait until the following season to do ours. Until the color of the wood changed on it. Looks sharp though.

Thanks. I did my research and it turns out that’s old thinking. As long as the wood is dry it can be stained. If you put water on it and it gets absorbed then you can stain it.

My husband is a general contractor...his father a painter...his grandfather a painter. No telling him otherwise. I know Dave here stained his wood as soon as it went up as well. But it would keep the hubs up at night to do so. His way of thinking...it's just not done.

Yeah, even the stain says it on the can, that it should be applied to new Pt wood.
