Every year about this time tight lumps of these eggs show up on trunks of maple and pyracantha. First time I've seen the worm looking things. Anyone know what they are?
Once some years ago when I grew trees in organic soil I brought some good looking soil with decomposing bark from the woods. Within a week I had full house of crawling larvae similar to this. They looked like flour worms https://www.google.sk/search?tbm=is...img..4.2.1343...0i13k1j0i7i30k1.0.tZ_d34fom6E but were darker brown in colour. I can't remember and find ID, only that it or its bug (the mature being ) lives under a bark, used insecticides, stopped bringing that soil home and they never appeared again.
