Braided benjamina air-layer

I am surprised I don’t have a thread for this somewhere, but it must have been back on the IBC.
This was an early airlayer attempt by be in ~2005 or so. And, is well overdue a repot. It has always been a bit of an ugly duckling and probably always will be.
“Mother” tree is in the background.

I think it looks fine, with lots of character. Maybe try a different front view.

I gave it a little more room to grow. I may keep it indoors with the orchids this winter instead of putting it in “the tank.”

I managed to induce some ‘bump in the trunk,’ when I took the airlayer at an angle. The tree always has weird ramification because it is a generic braided benjamina.

I trimmed up the mother plant for some deep practice on the topic of clip and grow.
