Kanorin
Omono
Up for auction is an 8” x 5.5” cut corner rectangle made by me. Constructed with Kansas clay stoneware and gas-fired to cone 10. Fully vitrified.
The pot has some slight inner curving warpage of the walls, which is not really noticeable unless viewing from above. It features two glazes, a yellow overlayed with a turquoise, which creates this really interesting suite of earthy colors in reduction. Unfortunately the turquoise extended a little farther onto the feet than the yellow, so that’s why it has that bright turquoise visible on the feet.
Inscribed on the underside of the pot reads: “Bonsai Nut Supporter”
And “MJV ‘25” (that’s me)
Bids on the pot will start at $25 and end at 9pm Central time on Sunday January 25th, 2026. Winning bidder will donate the money directly to supporting the bonsai nut site and forums. Then I’ll donate the cost of shipping (USA only, sorry) and send the pot on its way.
