Whose going to this years convention? I figured Mat probably is seeing that his dad has a tree in the exhibit.
I will not be vending this year... 5 days looking at the same walls does my head in, LOL! However they have me doing demos on Friday if anyone has the day off and wants to swing on by and say hi...

9:00 am. - 12:30 pm
Dual Demonstration:
Stacy Allen Muse Procumbens Nana
Guy Guidry Apricot

And one in the afternoon, which I believe will be a Ficus?
From I think 2:00 till 5:00

Here is some more info regarding the convention...

The Florida society show is always a good one, but it is in Orlando, the Armpit of the world. I wouldn't go even if I still lived in the state.

Closing in on the convention ! I noticed today when I was looking over BSF's website regarding the convention,
that they still have some open spaces in some of the workshops... Personally, I am not a workshop kinda guy, but
might reconsider after viewing the Large Green Island Ficus with the trunk based ranging from 8-12 inches!

Oh yeah. Of course I'm going. I'll be there on & off all weekend. I'm doing Mary's Buttonwood workshop on Saturday and the banquet Sunday night.

I was down at Robert Pinder's a couple weeks ago and saw the most of the workshop trees. Those Green Islands are huge. The Lysiloma for the demo's are also massive.

Not sure what JKL's problem with Orlando is. I'll just assume its general elderly grumpiness combined with some bad memories of past theme park visits.

It's FLAT. It's HOTHOTHOT. It's HUMID. It's CROWDED. It's NOISY. You can smell the air.

I live on a hill. No arguments from me bout the heat or humidity. And certain parts of this big town are definitely crowded & miserable. Locals find it pretty easy to avoid those parts, as you might imagine.

Anyway, sorry to get defensive. This place is far from perfect, but it's home...

The green islands look it! The only problem for me would be that I would probably want to chop them down... which I would not really need a class then! I will not be staying the whole convention this year seeing that I am not vending. I will be getting there Thursday night, and doing the demos on Friday, and possibly returning home after. So, if you are there on Friday, I will probably see you!

I live on a hill.

And that puts you about 150-200 feet above sea level, yes? Nice hill.

For 40 years, I lived at 320 feet above sea level near Tallahassee. The highest point in Florida is just a few miles away at 345 feet. :p
