Lodder also just announced their end of year sale on their website.

@ShimpakuBonsai Have you ever been to either one of the sales (Lodder or Bonsai Plaza)? How much material really is on sale - and would you recommend one over the other?

I've visited them both for years and they have lots of trees on sale with nice discounts.
I don't really prefer one over the other but I think the quality of trees is a little better at BP.

For me it's an hour drive to both of them and I think it is worth the trip.

I noted the date but unsure if able to go... Saturday party from work.
Sunday headache from party from work 😂

I'm on the way back from Bonsai Plaza, spent a little under two hours there strolling aroumd.
Drove an hour and a half to get there.

Loads of imported trees, loads of well refined maples and a whole bunch of flowering species.

That 15% discount is worth it, I'm used to Spanish prices for plants and German prices for pottery. Relatively speaking, you want that discount.

The people seem knowledgeable and friendly! Nice tokanoma display when entering and a good selection of pots and plants.
But.. Mostly Japanese species and pottery. I didn't see mugo or sylvestris or common junipers.
Also very few novelty species. Basically, what you see on the website is what they have to offer.

I'll see if I want to resize some pictures to upload here.
