Arizona bonsai
Shohin
I found two plants to work with today. The first is Blue Emu. The second is Texas Sage.
Thanks for that information. I’m trying more “trees” that live in a hot arid climate.Good luck with the eremophila. Most are desert plants so should suit Arizona OK.
I have not grown E. hygrophana here but most of the silver foliage WA species are more difficult for us in the Eastern states. I've managed to grow a couple of similar species by grafting them onto a local Myoporum species so the roots resist our wetter and colder soils.
Most eremophilas tend to get pretty ragged at times here but respond well to pruning. They sprout readily on bare wood.
I have not tried any as bonsai as most are just straggly shrubs here so I've never thought of them as trees..
Many species resent summer humidity so if we get some summer rain here some just die, others die back a bit and eventually recover.
Treeland on Countryclub.Where did you get your blue emu.
