Christmas bonus came through at work and I thought to use a small chunk of it on myself for a Black Hill Spruce that I have been talking to Andy about for 2 years now.
This tree will make a wonderful literati/ tall alpine style tree and I’m excited for the next step in its development. It will join other spruces I have in my collection that will be a part of a lineage of native species that I will shape.

. But I watered it and will let it settle until spring , I’m gonna slip pot into a larger Tokoname training pot with pumice for a coupe seasons.. this is a Andy smith collected tree his black spruce at National arboretum will serve as inspo .. and I love the tall timber literati aesthetic
