One of the curiosities in France (not in the above slideshow) are "faux de Verzy" (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Faux_de_Verzy ), beech that are naturally twisted, very spectacular:

Old western larch (800yrs or so). Just came across it today while getting firewood.

I don't know of any larch bonsai that look like this but I wish I did!

I always admire these 2 ponderosas growing at about 7500' down the road from my house. Nicely compacted foliage on nicely compacted branches. Jinned main leaders on both.

I snapped this pic this morning in the Target parking lot in Georgetown TX. It was extra foggy today. This live oak even comes with a gigantic pot hah. They stoned around these trees to keep the original soil.
