Big Dave's Collection Sale

Just got an email from Big Dave's family announcing a show and sale of his collection. It will be held on July 13, 2013, from 11 am to 7 pm at the Double Tree Hilton Golf Resort in San Diego, 14455 Penasquitos Dr. San Diego, CA 29129.

They will be showing some of his best trees, holding demos, and selling finished trees, stock, pots, accessories, as well as his pottery making stuff.

I hope everyone within reasonable distance can go and support Dave's family.
There will be some great things to acquire.

Dear Bonsai friends,

The children of the late SDBC president David Rochester invite you to the final sale of Big Dave’s Bonsai collection. Big Dave left a legacy of love for the craft of Bonsai. Included in that legacy is a large collection of both finished and nursery bonsai. All proceeds from the sale go to support his wife, Bonny Rochester.

When: Saturday Dec 14th from 9am – 3pm

Big Dave’s trees have been on exhibit at the San Diego County Fair, Japanese Friendship Garden, and (coming soon) the Huntington Library Bonsai Exhibit. Many of those same trees formerly on display will be for sale.

This is the final sale for Big Dave’s collection.
