And I'm not talking only about the quantity or quality of the trees displayed thought that's also very important. And either about the commercial area, or the quantity or quality of the demonstrations
I'm talking about the show itself.... the way the trees were displayed, the place where it took place, the light, the "ambient" ....
To me it's very clear, after "watching" (video, photographs,.....) several of these shows all over the world, that my favorite is the 2015 Artisans Cup.

I know this is subjective. In fact, I have never attended to a bonsai show...... (though I had the opportunity to see world class trees when I was to Japan).

So, in your subjective point of view, what should be the best show you know of?

The Artisans cup was the first American bonsai show I ever went to. I went to snoop on pottery. I remember waiting in front of the museum and overhearing someone talk about how they spent $300 on the tiny juniper in his hand. I couldn't imagine how anyone could spend so much money on a tree. haha...times change

...I was just looking at my vendor photos and prices for pots and trees have tripled since then.

I went to the 5th Wold Bonsai convention in DC in 2005 and that was the largest and coolest show I ever went to. It also made me never want to go to a large exhibition outside of the Midwest again.

The part I really loved was seeing Goshin and the Yamaki Pine in person. Being 19 and fairly broke I couldn't purchase much from the vendors but the whole trip with three other women from my club was mostly great. Being able to go to the national arboretum made it that much better. I wish I had been able to take more classes at that time. I also can't find many of my photos from that trip. I did learn that a bonsai counts as a personal item when boarding a plane. Also having coils of wire in your carry on will get your hands swabbed at least three times for explosive residue.
