Starting a post for this tree I got from @Cajunrider earlier this year. It’s going to be developed as a flat top. I quickly potted it up and did no work on it this year, but will repot and do some root work next spring to get it vertical.

I’m planning on removing all the lower foliage next spring and keep the four main branches at the top of the tree. I’ll cut the top ones back hard and go from there.

The tree measures exactly 4 feet tall with about a 4 inch diameter trunk at the start of the nebari.

Beautiful tree. Put it in a wider tub.
I have quite a few trees in narrow tubs like this. I can't wait until I move to PA and have the room to move my BC to wider pots so the roots have a bit more room.

Unfortunately this was the biggest tub that I had at the time. I’m hoping to get it into an actual pot next spring that’s shallow and wide, but I didn’t want to do any more root work after getting it this year.

I have the room, I just need a few more BC to occupy the space!
