I saw it today in this video, you can see several closeups if you follow the link. It was featured in the "Okinawa Prefecture Bonsai Fine Art Exposition 2018".

I’m even sure what I’m looking at but I’m amazed, it defies description. It bridges the gap between wild and refined perfectly.

If you look under the lowest branch on the right, there is a little tag. These are generally reserved to designate “Important Japanese Masterpiece”. Which means they are considered to be a part of Japanese Culture, and are protected. Kinda like our National Parks. Or a building on the Historical Register.

So, they are not supposed to be sold to anyone who would export it. They can be privately owned, just not taken out of Japan. I have no idea how many there are.

Our "tag" has really become more about a fine time piece...…

Lower branches seem a little "lanky".....kinda' like Flava Flav…...just sayin'.:D:D:D:D:D:D

Is there a list of those trees somewhere that would be readable for non-Japanese?

Someone must know the name of this tree and owner/artist.
