Anyone know this Satsuki cultivar “Koemi”? Or maybe the name says something else…

I bought this satsuki at an estate sale after a bonsai artist had passed away. Today I was cleaning out the top of debris and I found this tag buried.



I read “Koemi” but I can’t find anything when I google it. Anyone else see something I don’t?

By the way, apparently this Satsuki goes back to April 2010, where it was purchased from the late Gerald Johnson, if anyone knew him.

This seems exceedingly plausible. No interpretations I could come up with had any hits at all, and Koemi/Komei… yeah, that fits.

Oh yeah, I just looked up the leaves and they look like a perfect match. Mystery solved!!!
