Anyone ever use a lawn sprinkler?

We just got back from a 10 day trip backpacking in Wyoming, and everything is growing like crazy, no problems with the watering system. Only thing here that could happen is if we were to loose power, as we are on a well and the pump needs electric. I have someone come over and check if there are really bad storms that power is still up. My power company is a co-op though, so we rarely loose power.

Get one that has a battery backup. It's what mine had.

Yeah mine is battery too and since we have public water, its on in a power outage.
Judy is on a well. The well pump needs power, so unless you have a generator, there is no backup.

When I go to Honduras I set them all on the back patio and use such a set up. 20 minutes a day. Not at night since I go in early June and nights can be cool. I always come back to thriving happy trees.
Have fun!

So Im thinking ahead to my trip to the National Show and I will be away from my trees for 4 days. In the beginning of September, we still can get some warm days and we have had very few rain days this summer so I cant rely on rain to make sure my trees have enough water.

So how did it all work out? I am pretty certain OK... The last time I did that I left them be a few days more after returning as they all seemed happy - did you :p ?

I had it running for the whole week prior to leaving so I could test it and tweeking as needed.

2 areas, 2 different spinklers, 2 timers
Daily watering, one area for 30 min continuous non oscellating spinkler; second area 1 hour with a back and forth motion on the spinkler. 1 day rain delay.

Trees all seem very happy. Soil on the both areas was still moist at the end of the day, but not wet so I know they are getting enough and not too much.

In fact, they are still being watered this way. I love the fact that they are getting water in the A.M. which is better for them and it saves me time. I'll probably adjust timing and duration as weather conditions change this fall.

At our old place it was all auto 6 zones, adjusted a few times a season. That was a large place and when we moved here in 2013 my Wife said we should do the same saving me a bit of time. Being so much smaller and not really having Bonsai right now I was ok with temporary watering as you do. This Spring however as the plants keep doing good she is hell bent on getting all automated front and back anyways  I told her fine as long as I get a cedar deck :p I must confess though I use the auto system for the lawn we had put in for a few minutes each morning and have placed Junipers and few others on shelves in the path - I guess I was spoiled after all...
