Here is how #2 looks after a long winter in a grow tent. I performed a pruning on it a couple days before this photo.

#4 still alive and kicking. I performed a heavy pruning and defoliating on this one as it ended up growing too tall with leaves intertwining too much for my liking. Hopefully I set it up for success to grow wild this summer.

The still curvy #5. I also gave this one a heavy prune as one of the lower branches was growing taller then the actual trunk while not currently showing signs of taking over. I still haven't decided on if I want on of the lower branches to become the new leader, have the tree start dividing there, or just one of the lowers to be the "first" branch

#12 is still hanging around. The little shimmy in the trunk was where it died back to during the wife's induced drought. One of the side branches took over as the leader I did a light pruning on this one a few days ago to reduce crowding.

The lucky #13. In this one, you can still see a nub from where the tree died back to. There are some nodes there that I am hoping activate and create a cool division there. You can also see a branch becoming the new leader.

#15. The last of my 2022 batch. I did some heavy pruning on this one to try and direct growth. We'll see how it evolves over the summer.

Just a quick summer update. We had a fairly cold end of spring and the trees got some cold damaged leaves. As pictured was the post cleaning of damaged leaves and some minor work, No major changes besides unlucky #13.
I wanted to start testing how these adapt to a smaller container. It had the best thickness and the plant looked relatively healthy before I mutilated the roots. As per usual, the tree dropped all of its leaves in protest of the cruel treatment. The rocks are to help stabilize it as I was not super successful in using my tie-downs correctly (3 sets of 2 holes. So more or less a 3 hole pot).

Taken on 21st of August, 2023, Unlucky #13. I cleaned up the dieback of a couple branches, but mostly wanted to show that it has recovered. Pictures were taken to try and get the bark texture to stand out instead of being quite reflective in a picture. I didn't edit these photos, so they are a bit on the darker side with the pot textures a bit muted.

I don't know about a lot of experience xD Just playing around. Sadly, all of mine have died ( the last two died last month) due to my own negligence. I'll be starting some new ones soon, but hopefully will turn out better as I have learned more about developing young stock. At the moment, I prefer Earpod Trees due to the smaller leaflets, but since I have probably 800 or so seeds of this species I will keep playing with them.
