Dunno why I should expect THIS year to be different.
Maybe because I located the stupid tree where it would be sheltered from the drying N. WIND!
Soooo...... a SOUTH wind comes up on a couple hot days and fries it to a crisp.
I gotta be done with mapes. This one is my last and ALL have had the same issue.
Palmatum doesn't thrive in cactus country.
So today I lifted it out of the shallow pot and dropped it as-is into a deeper, bigger, COARSER soil pot to hope it makes it through the winter and ready by spring to put in a WAY deeper pot than it was in.
Only thing I can think of short of a wood shredder.![Mad  ](https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/joypixels/assets/8.0/png/unicode/64/1f621.png)
