Here's the tree before and after a little cutting and wiring. Not the greatest tree in the world but it's starting to come along in its bonsai journey. Probably another few years before the canopy starts to really come in. Will probably do a hard cutback on some of the branches this winter to get some better bifurcation closer into the trunk.

Here are the final two trees at the end of the contest. The clump harvested from the severed rootball seems to be closer to bonsai than the bigger tree. They are both in pots made by my mother.
