3D printed pruning pots

Not sure if this belongs here or the Tea House.

I've recently been playing with 3D printing some air pruning pots since I can't get my hands on any pond baskets.

Gone through 2 iterations of prototypes. One pot takes 2h to print and is 65/65/65mm in size but I'm planning on printing bigger ones as well.

Where in Northern Europe are you?
I might go to some stores later this month, maybe I can look up how much it would be to ship a bunch of baskets to you.

Ireland. Everything gets filtered through the UK. I'm looking for a couple of 30cm pots for larger trees.

To be able to 3D print them is nice but I think buying pre made will be cheaper.
If I Google "pond basket ireland" I find several onlineshop who sell pond baskets.
Why can't you find them?

Thanks! I like the idea of tinkering and creating my own stuff. They are really sturdy. I've packed them full of wet horticultural gravel mix and they have no issues.

The cedars seem to be enjoying the pots, not sure what to do with the extending roots however. Let them be or prune?

Or the seed wasn’t viable or treated correctly. Most people on Etsy or eBay are just selling seed in smaller quantities they buy in bulk. The grass seed could of also been in the soil mix. Maybe it hasn’t sprouted yet.

Nice pots though! I like the color also!

It was a sterile mix of vermiculite and coco coir. Only Jap. Cedar pots grew these and nothing else..
