32 year old Acer Rubrum

I didn't know that this tree would be at the show and was thrilled to discover it within 3 minutes of walking inside. It was larger (and more impressive) than I thought!

This is something I know I would love to attempt again as the Acer rubrum is my favorite tree.

I have attempted twice with two different trees here I Florida, but failed both times. I had used trees from a nursery in my area, so I thought for sure it would be okay.

My guess is that because I only have a screened in balcony to put anything, as I live in an apartment, that was my issue.

Maybe someday I will give it another go.

Excellent tree and progression!! I wish I'd been able to enjoy it there, but I look forward to seeing it in the album. :)

I'm growing a rubrum myself because yours is just so nice.

This is one of my favorite trees on this forum. You just don’t get to see many native deciduous trees that look this good. Thank you as always for sharing photos! Fall colors look wonderful!

Love it. Mine is a brilliant red right now. Such an underrated species!

Spectacular show of yellows. I find yellow difficult for me to get right. That perfect shade the tree actually is. Do you find that...or is this true to color? Either or...it's quite delicious!
Not sure what you’re asking. Did I edit the color? I didn’t, however uploading it here the image tends to lose a little vibrancy. I’m sure the black background helps to punch it up a little.

No...just that, thank you. It loses vibrancy. I struggle to capture the Ginkgo's true yellow. Not sure why ... maybe this year will be the year. Fingers crossed.

I've found that most of the photos I take need to be adjusted to some degree before posting. Especially with fall color - sometimes the hue is off, sometimes the intensity. Different cameras will also produce different results, the lighting matters, exposure all can impact the quality of the image.

Thanks...yes, totally agree. I only get annoyed with the Ginkgo. Where my OCD kicks in. I can get close...but never the cigar.
